Student Report Cards Coming home 11/27

Please check your child's backpack for their report cards on Monday, November 27th. Please keep the contents, sign and return the envelope to your student's teacher. Also, please verify the mailing address on the envelope is correct so we can ensure your child receives their report card at the end of the year.

Report Card Adjustments

SJPS staff are dedicated to developing supportive relationships with all students within our growth-minded culture. This includes exposing our youngest students to the arts in a low-risk environment where they can foster their creativity and develop team-building skills. Therefore, you will notice that our Y5 - 3rd grade students will not have grades reported in the areas of physical education, music, and art throughout the school year. This change in reporting allows our teachers to get to know students personally over time, documenting their strengths and next steps and intervening where appropriate. Reporting, however, will occur in 4th and 5th grades, beginning in the second trimester, as sharing progress related to achievement within minimal contact time (less than 9 hours total in the first trimester) does not align with our shared beliefs about teaching and learning. Should you ever have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress in physical education, music, and art, we invite you to reach out to our teachers at any time. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Giving Tree

Our Brown School Community understands that there are times in life when we need help. We are so thankful to be part of such a giving community and hope that this year our Giving Tree can brighten the holidays for our families at Brown. This year we will be collecting items for our Giving Tree for 13 Brown School families. Please consider donation items for our Giving Tree if you are able.

Donations can be dropped off to the main office starting Monday, December 4th and all items must be brought in by Friday, December 15th.

Please be sure to label each item clearly with Family #, Child Gender and age and please leave donated items unwrapped.

Thank you for your support! We are so thankful to be part of such a caring and giving school family.

Happy Holidays!!!
