Donuts with Someone Special Join our PTO on October 17th at 7:45am on the playground for Donuts with Someone Special . All students are welcome to bring one special someone for a donut before school on the playground unless it is raining, so please dress for the temperature and bring your own coffee!

Lory’s Place Peer Grief Support Group We are so fortunate to have a resource like Lory’s Place here in our community! Our Brown Elementary School is a better place because we have the opportunity to partner with Lory’s Place in order to provide a peer grief support group within the school setting. Lory’s Place Group is a peer grief support group that is offered to our Brown School students who have experienced the loss of a significant person or people in their lives. It occurs once per month during the school day.

Each October, the Women's Service League collects and distributes thousands of free coats to men, women, and children living in Berrien County. This event has helped thousands of people keep warm through the tough Michigan winters for over 20 years. Please donate gently worn coats, hats, and mittens in any size to keep our neighbors warm this winter. A collection box is in the vestibule here at Brown.

Thank you to our popcorn crew for making and delivering over 400 bags of popcorn last Friday! Save the Date October 27th: Mr. Rommel eats a bug Mr. Rommel eats a bug… or maybe a few to celebrate raising more than $25,000 for the school! This will be done in the office and broadcast on all classroom televisions to ensure all the students are able to see. The Bucks for Brown celebration was full of “Eat the Bug” chants, so we expect to hear this in the halls today. For those who were at Brown a few years ago, this is how we shared Mr. Pratley and Mrs. Bawks playing Beanboozled - it worked well! November 3: Yearbook Cover Deadline All submissions for the yearbook cover contest are due this day!

Positivity Project Character Trait of the Week This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of OPM - Knowing my words and actions affect others. Our words and actions impact our relationships with other people. They have the power to lift others up or tear them down. But, our words and actions also impact ourselves. If I am consistently speaking or acting with an entitled, arrogant, or mean attitude, I’m going to find it tougher to tap into and exemplify the character strengths of gratitude, humility, and kindness. Thursday-Make Connections Across Text Friday- Make Connections Across Text Math- Unit 2:Interpreting Fractions as Quotients Students develop an understanding of fractions as the division of the numerator by the denominator, that is a÷b=ab$�÷�=\frac{�}{�}$, and solve problems that involve the multiplication of a whole number and a fraction, including fractions greater than 1.
