Last Week! May 27-31

5th Grade Awards & Walk Away

Parents of 5th Graders are invited to join us on May 31st at 10:45 in the gym for our awards assembly. We will recognize their accomplishments, contributions and bid farewell to our 5th Graders as they walk their last lap as an elementary student! The walkaway will take place immediately following the awards ceremony (approx. 11:30) near the walking track.

Student Medication

Rescue medications (Epi-pens and inhalers) will be sent home on the last day of school with students. If your child has other medication in our school office it must be picked up by the child's parent/guardian in the school office by Friday, May 31st. Any medications left after school is closed for the summer will be discarded. Please disregard this message if you have already picked up the medication at any time during the year.

Have a great summer vacation!

Moving out of District???

If your family is moving out of the district and not planning to return to Brown Elementary, please complete this form so we can update our system to reflect the change and be on the lookout for record requests from our families new school. Thank you and have a wonderful summer.

It's time to celebrate another great year at Brown Elementary School with our annual Spring Picnic!

The only way for grown-ups to participate is by volunteering to help! (Younger siblings are welcome to come along with their volunteering grown-ups!)

LOST&FOUND

The office still has yearbooks for sale. Parents are welcome to stop in or send money with your child so they don't miss out on these wonderful memories of our school year. Cost for $17 (exact change please or check written to SJPS). This is a great memory of the school year for your student!

Upton Cross Country

Summer is just around the corner and I'm sure that brings a level of excitement, especially for your students. It also can be a time when boredom sets in for some kids around the second week of summer. I invite you to consider having your child join the Upton Cross Country team. Cross country is one of the few sports that is open for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. It's a great way to beat that summertime boredom, get active, and do something worthwhile. There are so many benefits to the sport, not to mention plenty of opportunities to get together with classmates and build new friendships. Please take a look at the 2024 SJCC Summer News Packet for more detailed information. I can't wait to start working with this year's team!

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Coach Matt Maier
